                                  Cats are frequently considered to be independent creatures. Most cats stay outside by themselves all day, coming inside only to eat and use the litter box. They are remarkably low-maintenance as a result. But if you don’t regularly clean some cats’ fur, it can get out of control and become a problem.                                     Hidey the cat’s owner was unable to properly care for her, so she went years without being groomed. When animal rescuers eventually caught her, her hair was so thick that she resembled an octopus.                                    The cat’s owner, who suffers from Alzheimer’s, was taken to a nursing facility. They called the Pittsburgh Animal Rescue League Shelter and Wildlife Center when they saw Hidey there.  Hidey may have gone up to two years without any care, according to animal experts.
